A darkened gallery room with dim purple-pink light. Three rectangular boards lean against one large white board, each saying 'SWARM', 'COMMUNITY' and 'SAFETY'. The large white board says 'if we don't make art about our experiences, other people will do it - Rori, Bodies, Visibility, and Violence'.

Installation view with quote by Rori, curator at Objects of Desire

Rori is a curator at the online archive Objects of Desire. Objects of Desire holds a record of sex workers’ objects and stories. Workers donated objects or photographs of objects to the project along with a description of their significance.

Bodies, Visibility, and Violence was a roundtable panel discussion on the traps of visibility, the risks of violence, and making art while experiencing the world as a marginalised body. It was presented as a part of the SWARM (Sex Workers Advocacy and Resistance Movement) Festival of Resistance in May 2019. More information can be found here.
