Angela Lynn Douglas (1943-2007)and the Transsexual Action Organisation (TAO)

Angela Lynn Douglas was a transsexual activist and writer. She contributed to the LGBT community by writing columns about transsexual issues and news in numerous publications, including The Berkeley Barb, The Advocate, Bay Area Reporter, and Everywoman. She established the Transsexual Action Organization, also known as TAO, to counteract hate against transgender people and support the community. Douglas also started publishing her own magazines, first Mirage and later Moonshadow, which she spread with the hope of providing a forum for transsexual artists.
